We present the case of a 65-year-old woman with an aphakia after a
cataract surgery at the right eye and a pseudophakia (anterior chamber lens) at
the left eye. The two eyes received an intra-ocular lens with sclera fixing of
posterior chamber combined with an anterior vitrectomy. An elevated intraocular
pressure of 25 mmHg and severe ocular pains were observed immediately after the
surgery on the right eye. The far visual acuity (FVA) increased from counting
fingers at 5 m (before the surgery) ...

The in vitro anthelmintic evaluation of the
crude extracts and solvent partitions on Pheretima posthuma and Ascarissuum (eggs and L2 stage) respectively showed significant results at the same
concentration (10, 20, 40 and 80 mg/ml). This study
provides a clear evidence for usage of Mucuna pruriens and Canarium schweinfurthii as an anthelmintic. The most
potent ovicidal partition of C. schweinfurthii (Engl) leaves and bark and leaves

Conventional ductile iron (DI) and austempered ductile iron (ADI) alloys
were successfully produced. The alloying elements—Ni, Mo, Cr and Mn were added
to get as-cast low-alloyed ductile iron (LADI) followed by austempering heat
treatment. Hardness was measured for all investigated alloys. A hardness conversion
table was deduced for irons investigated. Highest values of calculated quality
index (QI) were for ADI alloys implying higher material performance. Impact
energy values were attributed to...

Background: In resource limited settings, many human immunodeficiency
virus (HIV) infected individuals lack access to sufficient quantities of
nutritious foods, which poses additional challenges to the success of anti-retroviral
therapy. Morbidity and mortality related to human immune deficiency virus
infection in the developing world remain unacceptably high, despite major
advances in human immune deficiency virus therapy and increased international
funding for care. Objective: To determine mag...

6-Amino-3,5-dicyano-4-methylpyridine-2(1 H)-thione 1 reacted with a-haloketones to give the S- alkylated derivatives 2a-m. Compound 2a-m
undergoes cyclization into thieno[2,3-d] pyridine derivatives 3a-m upon treatment
with ethanolic sodium ethoxide. Saponification of 3a gave the amino acid 4
which afforded 5 when refluxed in Ac 2O. Treatment of 5 with NH 4OAc/AcOH
gave 6a. Compound 6a also was obtained when 3c was refluxed in Ac 2O.
Reaction of 3a with...

Aim: To explore the value and prospects of the combined vessel resection with
reconstruction techniques in space-occupying lesion surgical treatment. Method:
We collected and analyzed clinical data of patients received combined with vessel
resection and reconstruction techniques surgery in department of hepatobiliary surgery
in our hospital from May 2007 to November 2012, and concluded experience in application
of vessel resection and artificial vessel reconstruction. Result: A total of 12
cases...

e-Business is a vast area of study. Normally Information System
researchers preferred to use a combination of quantitative and qualitative
study or known as Mixed Method approach. This is because qualitative study is able
to explain the quantitative finding in more details. Malaysian e-Supply Chain
(e-SC) was chosen as domain for this study and the ultimate goal of research is
to identify measurement parameters for trusted trading partner. This study

Aims: To compare the therapeutic effect of blocking trigger points in
temporal muscles by using saline and an anesthetic agent among patients with
masticatory myofascial pain syndrome, fibromyalgia and headaches and with
non-infiltrated controls. Methods: One hundred women, aged 23 to 70 years old,
were initially triaged. The seventy patients who experienced at least one trigger
point in the temporal muscles were randomly divided into three groups, as
follows: saline infiltration, anesthetic inf...
