Hydrometallurgical recycling of lead from zinc plant residue which occurs
at leaching plant has been investigated. After determination of optimum
parameters in the brine leaching stage, the pregnant solution was proposed on
cementation process by Aluminum powder and parameters (time, temperature,
initial pH of solution, initial lead content of solution, Al:Pb fraction,
stirring velocity) were investigated and optimized.

Individual neurological complication caused by Herpes simplex viruses in neonates
is well-known. We report neonatal Herpes encephalitis that caused multiple neurological
complications in the same patient during acute phase of illness. Our patient differs
from previously reported cases in the following ways: 1) Late onset neonatal presentation;
2) Development of multiple neurologic complications during acyclovir therapy; 3)
Cesarean-section did not prevent perinatal transmission of Herpes simplex...

The most typical old question that scientist struggle with is the exact age
of the earth. Accepted earth’s age is about 4.54 billion years (plus or minus about
1%) which derives from several lines of evidence with many involved assumptions.
Furthermore this age could not be computed directly and solely from the earth and
its determinant properties without contemplate suppositions. Also no scientific
method can prove earth’s actual age and the exact accretion time of earth as yet.

Given the increasing dairy and poultry industries, cowdung (CD) and
poultry manure (PM) might become alternative sources of nitrogen (N) for rice
production in South Asia. A field experiment was conducted during dry season (November-April) in Gazipur, Bangladesh.
The experiment aimed to evaluate N use efficiency
(NUE) in rice under varying sources
of N application. Six treatments—1) N-control; 2) optimum dose of
nitrogen (164 kg N ha ﹣1) from urea; 3) 50% N from urea and 50% N
from CD;...

Conflict remains a
constant, but not a permanent factor, in many African states today. For many
decades we have witnessed perpetual conflicts in African states, a
characteristic that has led to African states being referred to as dark,
anarchical, insecure and violent, particularly as compared to other states and
regions of the world. Many studies and researchers have developed frameworks on
the likely factors that explain conflict in Africa although there seems to be
lack of agreement as to the...

The rate of the aging process of the Brazilian population and the
accentuated social inequality and fragile institutions determine differentials
in the mortality of the population, with many challenges for the health system.
The aim of the present study was to analyze the mortality profile of individuals
aged 60 to 69 years (young-old) and those aged 80 years or more (oldest-old) in
a poor Brazilian state, as well as to investigate the associated socioeconomic
factors. The Specific Mortality Rat...

Hair whorls may be located on the midline of the scalp or off-center,
either on the left, or on the right. Some people may have more than one hair
whorl on their heads. Do the locations of the hair whorls have any relationship
with the time of birth? This study shows negative results which impact the
validity of common Chinese folklore and superstition surrounding hair whorl
characteristics.
