Abstract
Background
Anal fissure is one of the most common and painful proctologic diseases. An anal fissure is a split in the mucosa extending from the anal verge towards the dentate line. All methods of treatment aim to reduce the anal sphincter spasm associated with chronic anal fissures. Lateral internal sphincterotomy remains the surgical treatment of choice for many practitioners. Although sphincterotomy is very successful at healing these fissures it requires an operation with associated ...

We
report ab initio studies of the
dipole polarizabilities (α) and first
static hyperpolarizabilities (β) for
a set of substituted hexatriene in which electron donating (D) and electron
accepting (A) groups were introduced either end parts of the hexatriene chain
NO2-(CH=CH)3-D. Geometries of all molecules were
optimized at the Hartree-Fock HF/6-311 G(2d,p) level of theory.
Polarizabilities of these molecules w ...

An exhaustive literature survey on the secondary
metabolites of widely distributed Prunella vulgaris L. species has been carried out.
Triterpenoids, sterols, phenylpropanoids, flavonoids, coumarins, fatty acids, volatile
oils and carbohydrates along with some other compounds, have been reported from
this species. Many of these compounds have been found to possess significant biological
properties, including antihypertensive activity, antica ...

The phenomenon of dust particles surface
deposition in the fibrous medium showed the dendrites structures, which had
been confirmed and could be visualized by using computer technology for better
understanding particle deposition behavior on filtration process of fibrous
media. The pseudo-random movement model was used and the impact of particle inertia
movement and diffusion movement on the dust cake growth process in the fibrous
filtration media surfac ...

Modern quantum theory introduces quantum
structures (decompositions into subsystems) as a new discourse that is not
fully comparable with the classical-physics counterpart. To this end, so-called
Entanglement Relativity appears as a corollary of the universally valid quantum
mechanics that can provide for a deeper and more elaborate description of the
composite quantum systems. In this paper we employ this new concept to describe
the hydrogen atom. We of ...

Zinc
oxide (ZnO) thin films have been deposited using a SILAR (Successive Ionic
Layer Adsorption and Reaction) technique, which is based on the alternate
dipping of substrate in the solution and distilled water. The thin films were
grown on copper, silicon and glass substrates. The precursors for ZnO films
were diluted aqueous solution ZnSO4 complexed with NH3.
The films were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron micr ...

A polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)/Ag
nanocomposite was prepared by reduction of silver nitrate in ethylene-glycol in
the presence of a polymeric protective agent (i.e., poly
(N-vinylpyrrolidone)). The size dependent color variation of this nanocolloid
is a clear indication of the presence of Ag as nanoparticles in the polymer
matrix. The nonlinear optical properties were studied by Z-scan technique in
which a Q-switched Nd: YAG laser with a pulse width ...

Qingshan Thermoelectric Plant located in Wuhan City,
Hubei Province, China, and it uses coal as a fuel. Coal combustion generates
not only gaseous pollutants like SO2 and NOx but also toxic and heavy metals to
the atmosphere. From the environmental point of view, the determination and
speciation of trace toxic and heavy metals released from coal combustion are
very important. In this work, the atomic spectroscopic methods for
determination of so ...

In the current article, the authors
present a new recurrence formula for the determinant of a banded matrix. An algorithm
for inverting general banded matrices is derived.

The question why it is necessary to build the mechanics of
the structured particles, which are the systems of potentially interacting of
the material points, basing on the laws of Newtonian mechanics is discussed. We
will show how to do it without the restrictive hypotheses and assumptions used
in the classical mechanics for construction of the Hamiltonian formalism of the
systems. We will show also how concept of entropy appears in the mechanic ...
