Based on the idea of that particle decay represents nothing but a kind of
thermodynamic process due to its spontaneity, we here explore a new kind of
heat engine: particle Carnot engine (PCE), which satisfies Carnot’s theorem.
The result shows that any single particle carries its quantized intrinsic
entropy, and the total entropy never decreases for any decay process. Particle
thermodynamic laws analogous to the usual ones are proposed, among which the
momentum conservation principle is speciall...

We consider an inverse initial value problem of the
biparabolic equation; this problem is ill-posed and the regularization methods
are needed to stabilize the numerical computations. This paper firstly
establishes a conditional stability of Holder type, then uses a modified
regularization method to overcome its ill-posedness and gives the convergence
estimate under an a-priori assumption
for the exact solution. Finally, a numerical example is presented to show that
this method works well.

A term male neonate weighing 2720 gm was born to Gravida 2 lady by normal
vaginal route. The immediate post natal period was uneventful. At 12 hrs of life,
the baby developed poor feeding and fast breathing and was shifted to NICU. The
initial evaluation revealed decrease in air entry on left infraaxillary and infrascapular
region. The lab investigation showed features of sepsis. The CXR showed raised hemidiaphragm
with intact continuity on left side. The neonate was started on CPAP, antibiotics...

A nucleus has a lattice configuration, a mass, and a half-life. There are
many nuclear theories: BCS formalism focuses on Neutron-proton (np) pairing; AB
initio calculation uses NCFC model; SEMF uses water drop model. However,
the accepted theories give neither précised lattices of lower mass nuclei, nor
an accurate calculation of nuclear mass. This paper uses the results of the
latest Unified Field Theory (UFT) to derive a lattice configuration for each
isotope. We found that a simplified BCS f...

Based on Whole Brain Theory, this study explores the
relationship between learning and thinking styles and emotional intelligence to
determine correlations between the variables and to discover whether they
differ according to gender and age groups. Two tests are used: learning and
thinking styles based on Whole Brain Theory, and sensory-motor integration.
Validity and reliability are tested; correlation coefficient is calculated
using Pearson test. Total reliability for learning and thinking st...

The durability potential of bituminous mixtures may be defined as the
resistance of the mixture to the continuous and combined damaging effects of
water. High durability potential usually implies that the mechanical behavior
of the mixture will endure for a long service life. Now, flexible pavement,
made of hot-mix asphalt (HMA) with the addition of the reclaimed asphalt
pavement granules in the central asphalt mixing plant, is increasingly used.
The amount of the added reclaimed asphalt pavemen...

Recycling is a crucial area of research in Green Polymer Chemistry and
developments in recycling are driven by environmental concerns, interests in
sustainability and desire to decrease dependence on petroleum based materials.
Sustainability refers to the development that meets the needs of present
without comprising the ability of future generations. Polyurethane foams (PU)
are widely used due to their light weight and superior heat insulation as well
as good mechanical properties. However, lar...

Background:
Worldwide, an estimated 2.3 million children under the age of 15 are HIV
positive. The main source of HIV infection in children is vertical transmission
of HIV from mother-to-child during pregnancy, labor and delivery, or
breastfeeding. Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV has been expanded
in accelerated fashion throughout Ethiopia with all public hospitals and health
centers providing the services. However, published studies on the services’ provision in the country ar...

One of the most
challenging tasks faced by the pharmaceutical researchers is the ophthalmic
drug delivery. Their aim is to obtain and maintain a therapeutic level at the
site of action for prolonged period of time. Therefore, to sustain drug levels
at the target site for a sufficient time, novel drug delivery techniques should
be developed. Ophthalmic drug delivery has proved significant advancement for
future point of view. This article evaluates a variety of novel systems for
ophthalmic drug d...

This paper examines the effects of commercial bank lending on economic growth
in Nigeria for the period 1970-2013, using the rise in non-oil GDP as a measure
of economic growth. The theoretical underpinning of the role of commercial bank
lending in economic growth is based on the combination of the quantity theory of
money and aggregate production function. To determine the relationship between the two variables, therefore, a preliminary
co-integration analysis (unit root test) was carried out o...
