%X This study explores the current status of psychological contracts among teachers in private universities and its relationship with their turnover intention, while identifying the core contract elements that influence teachers¡¯ turnover intention in private universities. The result showed that 1) the Private University teachers¡¯ psychological contract in Shanghai presented a ¡°moderate¡± degree overall, and those who occupied higher educated and higher professional qualifications teachers occupied a lower psychological contract degree; 2) the correlation between the degree of the Private Universities¡¯ teachers¡¯ psychological contract and their turnover intention was significantly negative; what¡¯s more, the former was the effectively predict unit to the latter; 3) among the three dimension of the psychological contract, the development dimension displayed the most powerful predict strength of the subjectives¡¯ turnover intention. Such results prompted the management of the teachers¡¯ psychological contract to be brought to the forefront in private universities and suggested that the ¡°anchor the main groups¡± strategy might be considered implemented in management practice.
